Activities

Here in Radha Govinda Asram at Sri Radha-kunda, we follow strictly the same process, which our Guru-varga had established in the other temples and centers, like the Gaudiya Math and the branches of ISKCON. Daily our program starts in the very early morning with Sri Mangala Arati.

After awakening the Lord, the devotees perform the most auspicious chanting of Mangala Kirtana, accompanied by Arati, while taking the Lord´s Darsana. Subsequently we do Parikrama of the Lord´s altar, followed by Tulasi Parikrama. Because we are so fortuned to be situated at Sri Radha-kunda, we take the opportunity to perform daily after Tulasi Parikrama Sri Radha-kunda Parikrama.

Further our morning activities go on by chanting kirtans and prayers of our Acarayas, stava and stutis and astakams. These activities are very powerful and most favorable for Sadhana Bhakti. Everyone who wants to nourish his Bhakti should follow this most auspicious process that our Acarayas mercifully have given.

Furthermore there are so many opportunities to be engaged in service and to enhance our service mood towards Hari, Guru and Vaisnavas. The temple has to be cleansed and Bhoga has to be prepared for the Lord, then after offering the preparations to the Lord, again Arati will be performed. Afterwards the devotees will serve Mahaprasada. Also book distribution and Prasad distribution has to go on, as advised by our real well wishers, our gurus. One very important activity is to deliver the most auspicious mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu unto the suffering jivas. In this way we help the visitors, who come for Sri Govardhan Parikrama, by responding to their inquiries. To solve their questions and doubts we grant them our attention and time and provide spiritual solutions for their material problems. Our desire is that those, who show interest in spiritual advancement, become inspired to adopt this path of Bhakti, and carry on this practice of Bhakti at their homes. Our main focus is to chant the Holy Names and to follow in the footsteps of our Guru-varga. In this way we also distribute the authorized books, and strive to spread Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu´s teachings to approachable people with a complete Temple program for personal Sadhana.

We perform spiritual programs and primarily these are preaching programs. From time to time we travel upon any invitation we receive from West Bengal, Orissa, or from any other states in India or even abroad. We will do kirtan, speak Hari Katha, cultivate Bhakti and teach others what impressions we have from this Holy Dhama and from our Radha Govinda Asram. ‘Preaching is the essence of Bhajana’ as Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada taught us. If one will not preach he will never become, he cannot become a sincere devotee. By preaching to others they will be benefited, and also we will receive some benefit. Preaching is the essence and we organize also other preaching programs like book distribution where we distribute the literature like Srimad Bhagavad-Gita and also distribute the teachings of other Acaryas, devotional Bhajana recordings in CD’s, USB sticks, memory chips, online media service and so many other things.

Radha Govinda Asram is favorably situated on the bank of Radha Kunda where sometimes Sanyasis, other Gaudiya Vaisnavas, as well as other sincere devotees gather here to discuss, study and go deep into the meanings of Vaisnava literature.  Based on the teachings of Srimad Bhagavad-Gita:

mac-citta mad-gata-prana
kathayantas ca mam nityam
bodhayantah parasparam
tusyanti ca ramanti ca

“The thoughts of My pure devotee’s dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me.”

Those who are dear devotees of the Lord are always engaged in discussing the intimate topics about Krsna. They pass their time by absorbing, remembering, speaking Hari Katha. We welcome them and serve them.  Through the internet we live broadcast Hari Katha to the devotees worldwide.  Sometimes we perform kirtans and live record here in this Ashram. We inspire them and give them spiritual solutions so that they will adapt this path of Bhakti.  Civilization is going fully toward the hellish way of life. We enlighten the young masses that spiritual life is the best way, and the only way where we can get happiness.  We inspire sincere seekers to adopt this path of Bhakti, surrender to Sri Guru, surrender to Krsna and make their life successful.
